Prior to that and in between political and government employment, our founder Chris Jones temped for various staffing agencies in Austin, Texas, and Washington, D.C. The challenges and rewards he encountered in his temporary work experiences led him to build PoliTemps, a legislative, government, and political staffing company. By launching PoliTemps, Jones created a business that resonated with the political job seekers but also had wider appeal to those interested in public affairs, public relations, media, and non-profits.
PoliTemps provides organizations with top-quality, professional personnel who are politically astute in addition to possessing unsurpassed communications, administrative, and computer skills. As president and CEO, Jones oversees the business development as well as the marketing and management activities of the company.
PoliTemps has placed associates with clients for over one million hours and over 400 permanent placements.
Since 1998, PoliTemps has tripled in size and has added several staff for placement and recruiting. PoliTemps counts among its clients a premier roster of the top political consultants, public relations firms, associations, and non-profits in the D.C. area.
PoliTemps has been featured in numerous newspapers, political resource guides, and publications as a reliable source for news and information regarding politics, people, campaigns, and jobs.
Robert Christian Jones, 56 years old, grew up in Texas politics and, although he has worked in the nation’s capital since 1991, still calls Austin home.
Known to his friends as Chris, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1984 to 1988 as a yeoman and then as an intelligence specialist-analyst. He was stationed at US Naval Station Roosevelt Roads in Puerto Rico and also on the USS Blue Ridge, where he was detached to the Seventh Fleet Intelligence Department (N2).
His experience on Capitol Hill dates back to 1991 where he first worked as an LBJ intern for Congressman Jack Brooks (D-TX) and later as a Staff Assistant for Congressman and Majority Whip David Bonior (D-MI). In 1994 he worked on the Ann Richards for Governor campaign in Austin, Texas.
